Papel. Pel. Pelly Bel. Babyhead. Little Lion. Trotwood. Little Boy. Little Furry Buddy.
He grew into his ears, but kept his kitten voice. Never walked when he could trot. From the little tuft of hair on his left ear to the "racing stripes" around his back legs to his Q-Tip tail, he was the cutest, sweetest, most lovable tabby cat ever, and we told him so all the time.

So sorry for your loss, Angela.
Oh I'm sorry for your loss, pets are so wonderful and they get under our skin so easily. I know you will miss him.
I'm so sorry, Angela!
This is Chris (the husband). A few years ago, I would never have believed that I could form as strong a bond to a pet as I did to that little tabby cat. His life is the closest to mine that I have ever lost. I still can't entirely accept that he won't be there in the evening, asking to be lifted up so we can rub our heads together. I know the sadness and the guilt and the feeling bereft will subside, but my life won't be the same without my little furry buddy, Pel. My life is, though, so much better for having been shared with him.
Just reading about the death in your family, Angela, and send condolences to you and Chris. I know you're going to miss your buddy and no other animal will ever quite replace his unique personality; do focus on the amazing gifts of love we get from our dear pets to help ease the pain when they move on.
Oh, sweetie. I'm so sorry. We love them so much. They make a hole in our hearts where only they can fit.
So sorry for the loss of your sweet kitty. It's clear that he will be missed by the humans in your house and by the other sweet kitty in the photo. We grieve in proportion to what we have received.
